DEVOTION
In Psalm 76 I am reminded that God is powerful and mighty. He lives high above us. He can control the most powerful army and put the most powerful weapons to sleep. He is much to be feared and held in awe. When I come into His presence at the time of judgement, I must relinquish any thought I have of control. I must prostrate myself before Him and pray for mercy. God saves those humble enough to realize the need for the mercy that was obtained by the blood of Jesus. It is only by His grace that I am saved.
Psalm 77 tells me that even when I do turn and cry out to God the strength to do so comes from Him. It is good to meditate on the wonders that our powerful and mighty God has done. May the power displayed through the physical storms remind me of Him who controls the wind and the waves. Dear Lord may I see you lead me like you did Moses and the people out of Egypt and through the desert to the promised land.
Psalm 78 reminds me to pass on the stories of the love and mercy of God displays through the centuries to His people. I must not let the story stop with me. I am called to tell my children and my children’s children. God loves us and provides all our needs. All we have is from Him. May I not have to walk through the desert to remember to thank God for my food and everything else that I have. Lord please keep my heart steadfast for you. All the praise, honor and glory that I am able to give belong to you and nothing and no one else. Please give us shepherds to keep us on the path to You!
