The Way of the Cross // Matthew 16:21-28 // Matthew, Part 41

Jesus begins to teach his disciples that he must be killed and raised from the dead. Peter wrongly opposes this, as though success for Christ would mean something other than his death. Jesus takes the opportunity to teach the disciples about the way of the cross. Following Jesus is defined as denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and losing our life, all for the sake of finding our life in Him at His return in glory.
