North Park Church is a place where
people care for one another in time of need. Each
member can serve through a coordinated care ministry
known as the Network of Care. The Network of Care
was established and functions under the auspices of
the Deacons Mercy Team and currently, the Network of
Care has focused on five (5) areas of physical
needs:
-
Meals (providing meals in
the appropriate manner and schedule to serve the
individual)
-
Visitation (scheduling those
who want to visit so it best fits the schedule of
the person in need)
-
Transportation (providing
transportation to visit a loved one, for doctor
visits, go to the pharmacy, go to church)
-
Home Cleaning (sweeping,
dusting, laundry, etc.) -
Simple Home Maintenance and Yard
Work (changing filters, small repairs,
winterizing, mowing, leaf raking, etc.)
The current focus is on serving those
who have limitations or special needs due to family
illnesses, hospital stays, prolonged recovery or
rehabilitation, or who are otherwise homebound or in
long term care facilities.
Developing the Network of Care
process is assuring that:
-
Needs are being met in a timely and
efficient manor. -
People in need clearly understand what will be
provided. As we focus is on coming alongside the
person, not just supplying for the need, we are
avoiding any misunderstandings/confusion,
duplication of efforts, and/or unintentional burden
to the person/family needing assistance. -
The members of NPC are more confident
that needs are being met. -
The members of NPC share the
opportunity of meeting the needs.
Other care ministries for the members of North park
church include:
-
Good Samaritan Fund –
temporary financial aid for special needs
-
Care Packages – goods
donated and sent to military personnel and college
students
-
Life Resources –
booklets on a variety of life issues, such as anger,
grief, and suffering
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher,
have washed your feet, you should wash one another’s
feet. I have set you an example that you
should do as I have done for you. John 13: 14&15
